Seven Days of Gratitude · Day 6: Spirituality for Transcendence
I’m grateful for my spiritual practice, which includes regular meditation, mindfulness and other practices like contemplation and ‘daily gratitude.’ Dedicating this precious time with myself and treating it as a non-negotiable in my life helps to keep me centered, calm, grounded, kind, peaceful and self-aware – increasingly important given our global environment. Mindfulness practices, including meditation and other practices, can also be key to understanding one’s emotions in order to make different life choices and transform suffering – important in any environment. The best part? Everyone can do this and it doesn’t cost a thing.
My lifelong dedication is helping others evolve spiritually along the path of greater self-awareness and actualization. To help them see not only the forest for the trees, but beyond the trees. Consciousness is a vast multidimensional existence, where identity is more than how we define ourselves professionally and in our daily lives, but also as a spiritual being. We are so much more than who or what we identity with, or what we do for a living. Truly, we are all ‘essential.’ And as the scientists and quantum physicists have proven, we are all 'one', connected in a universal fabric - a marvelous phenomenon we can experience more fully during spiritual practices like meditation. My passion is helping my patients, who are interested, in connecting with a spiritual understanding of their psychological experience, which is mostly unconscious. By embracing each person as a whole, rather than from a “deficit model”, psychotherapy deepens from working with concrete, materialistic issues to healing their souls. I find an integrated holistic approach to be complementary, and comprehensive. Personally and professionally, embracing spirituality has been rewarding, freeing, expansive and enlightening!
